Sometimes you have to lose it all to find what you really need.
Photographer Kay Turner is dealt a double whammy when she flies home for her grandmother’s funeral to find her boyfriend with another woman. Now with two losses to mourn, she retreats to her newly inherited beach house to clear her head.
Everything at the beach is familiar: the sounds of the ocean, the scent of her grandmother’s perfume—and the irresistible smile of James Margolis. The man Kay spent her adolescence pining for is every bit as charming as she remembers.
James always thought of Kay as “a nice kid”, but he feels something very different for the woman she’s become. Especially when he asks if she’d be willing to part with some of her grandmother’s recipes for his new restaurant—and they wind up sharing much more than culinary secrets.
But as their relationship deepens, Kay finds herself caught between the demands of her dream career as a travel photographer, and a chance for happiness with the one man she’s wanted for a lifetime.

Anyone looking for a foodie romance? Well I have the book for you! Then, Again is a quick read that has just the right amount of angst, love, and laughter. It will leave you feeling content and maybe just a tad bit hungry :)
Kay Turner is a successful freelance travel photographer and spends most of her time on location and only a week or two here and there at home every couple of months. While on location in Greece she gets news that her grandmother and the only family she has left that matters and cares for her has passed away. When she makes it home to New York to pick up somethings before heading to New Jersey to make the arrangements for her grandmothers funeral she finds yet another surprise waiting for her when she gets home....a long legged blond that thinks Kay is Todd's sister. Who's Todd you ask? Oh that would be Kay's live-in boyfriend of three years! Needless to say Kay does not hold on to Todd and tells him it's over before gathering her things and making her way To NJ.
Getting back to The Shore and the beach house that she spent her childhood summers in she is reminded of simpler times and happy memories of her grandmother and her youth, and also runs into her childhood crush James Margolis.
James is in the process of opening up his own restaurant and when he bumps into Kay he is instantly smitten with the woman she has become, a far cry from the girl she once was. Kay and James reconnect with each other while spending time taste testing and sharing her grandmothers recipes and in that time begin to develop feelings for one another that go beyond just a crush.
This story was just simply sweet and wonderful. It's told in duel POV's and allows us to connect with both the hero and heroine, the progression of their relationship was perfect, and since they have known each other since childhood nothing felt rushed, more like just reuniting, reminiscing and falling in love. But even though they both know they have developed feeling for one another they do hit a snag when they realize that their lives are heading in different directions after the summer.
Both Kay and James are committed to their jobs him getting his restaurant open and thriving and her by making a name for herself in the photography world, and she knows from first hand experience that her job is no good for a relationship. But what happens when you actually fall in love with someone that has totally different goals and dreams than you do? And what happens when those are everywhere in the world but where you are? Do you tell them to stay or do you let them go and live their dreams? Kay and James are faced with these questions and go through some time trying to figure out what to do together and apart, but when they figure out what truly matters you're given a uber sweet HEA to go hand in hand with a truly sweet love story.
So in closing this book was a breath of fresh air. it's about prioritizing and putting things into perspective- what and who is most important in your life, and what will make you happiest. This was my first Karin Stivali read but it definitely won't be my last. A short, sweet foodie romance that will leave you smiling...what more could you ask for!
I write erotic romance (published by Ellora’s Cave) sexy women’s fiction (published by Turquoise Morning Press) and sensual contemporary romances (published by Samhain Publishing). I can also be found on twitter attempting witty banter.
GOOD LUCK!!
